Do I serve red or white wine with pickle loaf?

22 Jul

I’m making dinner for my new girlfriend, and I want her to be really impressed with my culinary knowledge.
1kissuperfantastic: Well, she’s not actually a “new girlfriend” so much as she’s “the strangely androgynous woman I met at the bus station.”

Tublet: Aw, babe, I didn’t know you felt that way. Wanna go bowling next week?

Noah & Marty: I’m partial to the apple-y goodness of Night Train Express, but you know, that’s really only for special occasions.

Tequila! You can impress her by drinking the worm. That wouldn’t impress me, but you have not asked me out yet. Why?

    If I were you…

    Scru the “culinary” knowledge…

I’d want her to be impressed with my “cunni-lingus” knowledge…

A smart little rose would be much better than a red or white wine!

I’m not sure – is Mad Dog 20/20 a red or a white?

In any event, it should be served in its original container wrapped in a brown paper bag.

Funyons might be a nice side dish to the pickle loaf.

May I suggest sharing a Twinkie for dessert.

    Good luck with this.

Find a friendly wine steward at your local 7/11 store and ask for the best bottle of Thunderbird that they have in stock. Smell the metal cap for freshness.

I think you lost her at “pickle loaf.” Start with a good, strong chardonnay at first, then she might be hungry enough to eat the thing. During the feast, go with a syrah or chianti.

And by the way, tequila doesn’t have a worm, mescal does.

You serve a fine Cabernet if in the summer. If winter, then I suggest Ripple, served at room temperature from Mason Jars. Another good choice is always Uncle Jebs Rocky Mountain Kicker, but hard to find lately.
