Try useing dental floss…it is what the Alaskan natives swear by for all the outdoor stuff they sew up… Plus it is very cheap

A small tip which may not be useful, but using more than 2 points to make it straight has the tendency to ruin a straight line, I know this from making a lot of models in my Architecture class. Two points and 1 long object to to span those two points is the best way from my own experience.

Absolutely awesome project Dave. I can’t wait to make one. Saw these on a british bushcraft site for over 200 bucks, yikes.

Hey you should look up how to make a ninja mask out of your shirt, it covers your head/ face real well, if you dont have a hood, or have extra clothes in your pack.

@OTEP1234567891011 Kevlar thread is great if you find it. I’d save it for something more important than a wool shirt though. A regular heavy cotton thread would do just fine too. So what I’m saying is… keep it simple and cheap and conserve the expensive or harder to find stuff for emergencies. Once SHTF, kevlar thread will be VERY expensive and you won’t be able to find it anywhere so preserve what you have now.
