Culinary School in Sacramento

Ok so like I am majoring in Game Software Development at Westwood College Online and I have been a student there since May of 08. Well because they are wanting so much money now that I dont have and want me to apply for MORE loans (I am think I am at like $15,000 already, and they are already wanting another $14,000 by tomorrow and I still havnt filled out the loan). Well I want to transfer to a Culinary Arts school I think, I use to cook down at the local restuarant and I loved it and I watch the food network all the time. The only thing is that I need to keep a full time job because I have my own house that I am looking to buy in a few months($20,000 house). Now that all the background information is out of the way…….
Do you think it would be a smart idea to transfer school?
How hard would it be to transfer?
Do you think its a smart idea to take classes online?
If so where at??
What about the money that I already spent at Westwood?
I got stanford Loans so far if that helps.
Or Would it be better actually GO to college?
My total cost at WestWood College is over $75,000!!!
I currently Live in Central Nebraska

I am considering a new career as a chef.

I would like to be a line cook working on edible art and eventually run my own kitchen.

Does anyone knows which is a better culinary school or if there is another one, local, that is better?

I am stuck in Dallas, and I know the schools in Houston and Austin are better, but my current career is here.

Any information or advice would be very much appreciated!

I would add that I am planning on moving to New York in about 5 years and want to get started here in Dallas on my chef career. I figure I can start my education and career here and continue on with better education in New York.

This is part of a school assignment and I really don’t have much time left for it because I had to covince my teacher that culinary arts is an actual art.

So, basically, I’ve got to thinking. I know there’s Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, but I don’t want to have to learn a whole new language.

What are the job descriptions, how long would you have to go to school and how much do they make?

I live in Michigan and cannot relocate. the only school I think here is the Art Institutes in Novi (detroit) I have read mixed reviews and this location opened last year. I don’t really have a choice as far as schools since this is the only one. I guess I just would like opinions. Has anyone attended any of the locations? What did /didn’t you like about them?
