The Culinary Institute of America-2 or 4 year degree?
I am going to the CIA and looking at the course schedule the two year degree and four year degree are almost the same, except the extra years of the four year degree teach you language and stuff. It’s also twice as expensive to go for the bachelor’s. Although the four year degree seems pointless, it looks good on a resume. Would it be worth it to get the bachelor’s?
To be a chef, do I need a degree from a Cordon Bleu/CIA or is a community college culinary program okay too?
Obviously, the Community College option is much cheaper. And I’m a little worried about graduating with 60k in debt and only being able to find a $10/hr line cook gig.

Jobs with a degree in Culinary Arts Management??…A.S. Degree?
Curious if this is worth pursuing? I am a thirtysomething. In my twenties I worked in the F&B Dept of a resort. I have held server positions with restaurants. I have always been interested in Culinary Side. I am drawn to Pastry side and Garde Manager side. I am already attending college for a A.A. to transfer, but I fear there will be few jobs in that field and will have wasted all those years. With something in Culinary (anything?) I feel I have a better chance? I was also thinking this would help me land a job in catering?
is there a degree you can get to do with catering?

Business and Culinary College Degree?
I am trying to find colleges/universities that offer a Business major with a concentration in Baking and Pastry (or any programs like this). The only school I’ve found so far is Kendall College in Chicago but I want to look into other schools but I don’t know of any. I am open to pretty much any where in the U.S. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The woman is energetic and very bright. I just can’t take her seriously though, bc she has no formal training. What do you think?

Im in Phoenix, tons of resorts. Passed on the “for profit” places like Le Cordon Bleu, aka ripoff university. Wondering what pay i can expect to make. I realize it depends alot on me, but does anyone have any figures?
Is it better get a Culinary Arts Degree from a Community College or and actual Culinary Arts School?
I’m trying to get myself into Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School. My father thinks I should just got my local Community College for my degree and the go to the Culinary Arts school for a certificate. I want to go to the actual cooking school because I feel like I wouldn’t a glance if I went to the community college. Anybody when who went to a actual cooking school, how well did you do on find a job? Anybody who went to a community college for a Culinary Arts degree, how well did you do on finding a job?
