How to interview people ?

Im in this culinary arts class in my high school .
In a few hours we are going to the fair to interview the vendors there . SO I don’t know how to start off . The teacher is giving us a list of questions to ask them . So How do I approach them without making things awkward . I tend to talk to quiet or too loud at times .

I am a 23 year old female and I have an intrerview for Culinary school this week. I am wondering which is the best way to dress. BTW its summer here so it will be rather hot and muggy.
Should I go Corporate casual?
Business Casual?
A classy summery dress with a nice pair of heels?
