I have been looking for a good culinary school with a diploma not a certificate for Baking and Pastry. I know some friends that went to Le Cordon Blue and they did not recommend it to me. Can any one give me some tips and advise? Thanks, that will be very helpful for me.
What’s one of the best culinary art school for Baking and Pastry?

The schools can set you back $80,000.
Most people attend these schools and find out that they can’t make much when they get out.
It makes life very difficult.
I know someone that went there – currently working as kitchen manager at Applebee’s.
But, some people are STUCK on being happy.
Follow the american dream – no matter what the consequences are.

Johnson and Wales is a highly rated culinary school, plus they have a Bachelor’s and Associate degree in Pastry arts. Also, I took a Baking and Pastry class over the summer at Kendall College and loved it. They offer an Associate degree. I hope I helped!

Depends which Le Cordon Bleu they went to?
The only Le Cordon Bleu in the US that offers an Associates Degree in baking, versus a certificate program is the Le Cordon Bleu in Minneapolis-St. Paul. I currently attend school there and I think it’s absolutely amazing, Not everybody makes it through the program, so unless you truly love baking and patesserie and have passion for the work you will make it through no problem.

There are a lot of culinary schools with good baking and pastry diploma programs. Check out le cordon bleu, the art institutes. Also, a few really good schools are the culinary institute of america and the french culinary institute in NYC.
